COL Financial and Bank Charges

This is disappointing news for COL Financial subscribers/account holders. It appears that when you transfer funds to your COL Financial account via bank transfers, bank charges will now apply.

This is because transferring funds to COL Financial for your further stock transactions are treated like bills payment, thus the fee. And starting this year, COL Financial refused to subsidize them. See notice below:

With the stiff competition in the stock brokerage business, I don’t think this is a good move by COL Financial. They better offer more value added services in order to stop account holders from moving elsewhere.

Personally, I found it so gorgeous that I kept thinking to myself how come I’m still sticking with the iPhone when the Samsung Galaxy series of phones (and even Android for that matter) have gone a long way since I last owned a Samsung Galaxy S2.

Digital Technology. Informal.

  1. A person who posts inflammatory or inappropriate messages or comments online for the purpose of upsetting other users and provoking a response.
  2. One who posts a deliberately provocative message to a newsgroup or message board with the intention of causing maximum disruption and argument.

This is probably a rant post, which I veer away from posting on this site. But I really need to get this out of my system right now.

Trolls are so abound the internet, may they be in pages and/or topics such as politics, motoring, games, gadgets, and now even chess.

There are rumored cases of paid trolls, and there are also cases of just plain stupid people with nothing else to do worthwhile.

Improvements Needed in Pokemon Go

Let’s face it. Pokemon Go runs like absolute crap, no matter which quadruple penta-core device it’s been installed on. While it could have something to do with battery savings, we think it’s simply just lazy coding. If you’ve been playing on a recent Snapdragon 820 powered Android device, trust me when I say you don’t even want to see this thing running on 2015 hardware. It’s just plain sad.

My iPhone 6s Plus is a 2015 hardware, it’s nowhere near today’s standards of octa-core CPUs, but Pokemon Go is running fine on this device! O wait, no, this is not another iPhone vs. Android post?!

Microsoft Offered $44.6 Billion to Acquire Yahoo! in 2008

New York Times, in 2008:

In a bold move to counter Google’s online pre-eminence, Microsoft said Friday that it had made an unsolicited offer to buy Yahoo for about $44.6 billion in a mix of cash and stock.

If consummated, the deal would redraw the competitive landscape in Internet consumer services, where both Microsoft and Yahoo have both struggled to compete with Google.

Then in 2016, Verizon acquires Yahoo! for $4.83 billion.

O how time flies, and how it drains billions along with it.
