When I first got my iPad (and iPhone 4 a month later), I registered them with a Philippine iTunes account. Since then, I’ve purchased several apps from the Apple App Store using my Philippines-issued credit card.
Now, the problem with the Philippine iTunes store is that you have no access to certain apps (e.g., Microsoft OneNote, Google Voice, etc.), as well as iTunes Music, Movies, TV Shows and iBookstore.
Then I discovered that it is in fact possible and totally legitimate to create a US iTunes account without a US-issued credit card (or US-based Paypal account). See the Apple support page on how to do it.
So I created another (US) iTunes account.
While maintaining the US iTunes account only and dropping the Philippine iTunes account altogether is an option, it’s certainly out of the equation. I’ve already spent as much as US$100 in the Apps purchased from the Philippine iTunes Store.

With great power comes great… a strong chess machine.
This is especially true with computers. With greater computer processing power, the deeper the analysis it can afford given a certain position, and the faster it gets to come up with the better play. Thus, the computer becomes a stronger chess player.
But how do you measure your computer’s power especially when compared to another computer of different specs and processor?
Chessbase has come up with the Fritz Chess Benchmark program that comes packaged with every Fritz chess program it ships.
Using the Fritz Chess Benchmark utility, here’s my result with the current machine I’m using:

It’s been days since the Apple Media Event in San Francisco. What we’ve learned from the event:
Personally, I’m not that impressed with the specs of the new iPad. From what Pinoy Tech Blog has pointed out as key differences from the original iPad, I don’t think I’ll easily buy to that processor upgrade, or the addition of front and rear cameras, or the reduction in thickness (or thinness, if you may) and weight, especially if it only officially reaches the Philippine shores in another eight months. With the introduction of iPad 2 yesterday in the Apple Special “Media” Event in San Francisco, California, Apple also introduced the iPad 2 Smart Cover.
Besides being a stand for your new iPad 2, this thing snaps into your iDevice through magnets. Also, it enables sleep when you put on the cover as well as wakes it up when uncovered. Watch the video after the jump »
