The primary reason I got my Intel NUC 11 Performance Kit was for its upgradability, specifically for RAM and storage. So, if you offer me an Intel NUC laptop with a soldered RAM, I’d say pass.

Evernote has brought me so much disappointments that I wanted to ditch it as my primary note-taking app in favor of Notion.

Recently, I got a new computer (an i7 Intel NUC 11), and I opted to have 32GB of RAM installed. Now, coming from an 8GB-RAM laptop, I didn’t expect this new Windows machine to hit its memory limit anytime soon with my normal usage. Until I installed the Notion desktop app.

A quick check of my Task Manager reveals Notion app eating up almost 17.5GB of Memory.

Do you need an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) for your system?

This is a timely video, I’ve been thinking about getting an Intel NUC, but the idea that I might need to set it up along a UPS defeats the purpose of a mini PC. The additional cost of the UPS left me even more confused, thus the reluctance.

Thanks to this video, I’m more convinced I don’t need a UPS. Now, deciding, should I go with the NUC 10i3 + 16GB RAM or the 10i7 + 32GB RAM?
