Gimbal

Gimbal Revolution

I bought a Zhiyun Smooth Q last year, and it now happily occupies a space in my bag. And it stayed there for quite some time now.

It was a great gimbal, don’t get me wrong, especially for its price. But I just don’t enjoy the trouble setting it up with my bulky Samsung Galaxy Note 8 everytime I use it. I’m sure it’s not too bulky a device to use for a planned event or travel, but not for everyday snap here and there.

And just recently, DJI released a new product — the DJI Osmo Pocket, and in time for the Christmas season at that.

And just like that, now I’m hooked.

DJI Osmo Mobile 2

The Verge:

DJI is introducing a new version of its smartphone stabilizer, the Osmo Mobile, that makes a handful of small changes to the original as well as one big one: its price. The Osmo Mobile 2 will start at $129, making it much more affordable than the original model (which started at $299, though you can find it now for closer to $200) as a way to keep your phone shake-free while shooting video.

Sounds like they’re very much challenged by the competition, particularly the Zhiyun Smooth Q. The price range and theĀ built-in long battery are the Smooth Q’s thing.
