This comparison is close to my heart for I’m about to renew my phone this year.
In 2017, I passed up on the iPhone 8/8 Plus/X and went for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 instead, primarily because of the price. Never regretted it. The Android of recent years is leaps ahead of its predecessors of the early 2010’s. Gone are the days of overheating Samsung Galaxy S2.
Anyway, the guy in the video above drew the following conclusion:
He scored 3 vs. 2 in favor of OnePlus 8 Pro. But he failed to point out the major deciding factor by which consumers usually lean on: the price.
Perhaps, where he’s from, the price difference of the two phones might be negligible. But here in the Philippines, it’ll cost you at least 37% more if you get the iPhone 12 Pro. That’s P45,990 vs. P62,990. It could go to as high as P68,990 if you level the storage capacity at 256GB. Can you imagine, you can get one and a half OnePlus Pro for the price of one iPhone 12 Pro?

- iPhone 12 Pro price on Apple PH Online Store
So, why not choose the iPhone 12 or the iPhone 12 Mini instead? I suppose this guy chose the iPhone 12 Pro in his video because it’s the closest comparison we can get.
